Risks and potential benefits of taking part
All men with prostate
cancer would receive hormone therapy, so the risks of side effects
from the hormone therapy would remain the same whether or not the
participant is involved in the trial. The extra drugs used in the
trial may be mean that there are risks of additional side effects
however there also is a possibility that the new treatments will
bring some benefit.
All participants taking part in the trial will be more closely
monitored; this may mean having more visits and spending more time
at the hospital. We hope that the information that we gain from
doing this trial we help in deciding the best treatments for future
patients.
