DNA Analysis
Each person’s genetic make up influences the way they respond to
any medical treatment, how well it works and what side effects
occur.
Blood samples from as many patients as possible will be
collected for future research. With patient consent, an additional
droplet of blood sample will be collected and stored for DNA and
protein analysis in order to try to identify molecular features of
clinical significance.
This research may involve the analysis of components of your
blood and tissue samples such as DNA or proteins. We would like to
see whether certain genes are associated either with certain side
effects or with beneficial results from the drugs we are using in
this study. This research may help to predict which patients will
benefit most from future treatments.
